Sam became an artist in the mid 70’s with the musical tendency “Nova Canço´” giving concerts together with other great singers of that time such as Lluis Lach, Ramon Muntaner, Pere Tapies, Marina Rosell, Pi de la Serra, etc. His singing education continued with an orchestra perfoming in Spain and all of Europe.
At the beginning of the 80`s his maturity and experience helped him win the finals of the TV programme “Gente Joven” consolodating him as soloist in TV programmes, the media, and the most prestigious night clubs such as the Benidorm Palace, Paladium Mallorca, Gran Palace Lloret, Flamingo Club Almerimar, Marabu´, Epoca, Tango, Llantiol and with his own show in Sutton Barcelona. In 1996 one of his songs from his latest CD “Celia” was chosen for the OTI festival. In l997 he began his permanent collaboration in the TV3 programme “Bonic Vespre”.
Between the years 98 and 99 he collaborated permanently in the TV3 programme “En Directe Mari Pau”. Since 2000 Sam performs in La Siesta. His supreme performances are one of the main successes of the show. When he is able, he performs in shows and night clubs all over the country.

Dancer and choreographer he was born in Cordoba (Andalucia). At the age of 4 he started studying flamenco and classical dancing with masters such as Ana Rodriguez and Concha Calero (winner of various national flamenco prizes) and supervised by professionals such as Mario Mago, Matilde Coral, Manolo Marin, “Moriquilla· etc.
At the early age of 12 Jose Leon presented his first show in Cordoba. Experts and Flamencologos defined him as the future Flamenco star.
At the age of 14 he created his own school with more than 250 students. Between the ages of 14 and 16 he presented himself at the most prestigious flamenco competitions with geat recognition, obtaining awards such as first prize in the competitions “LAS 2RR” first prize in the event “La Calahorra” also in the Festival of Flamenco Los Cables and “La Torja”. Second prize in the Flamenco competition “La Caseta”. First prize in “El Rocio” in Malaga. He was the invited artist at the “Premio Nacional de Flamenco (National Flamenco awards) in Cordoba. Jose Leon has also had great success on television when he won the television competition “Gente Joven”.
He continued his studies in Madrid with teachers such as Paco Romero, Azorin, Maria Magdalena, “El Guito”, Fernando Romero etc.
At 17 he began to structure his company through out Spain, performing his show in the best night clubs. “Papillon” (Fuengirola) ·”Florida Park” (Madrid) “Torrequebrada” (Malaga) “Gran Palce” (Lloret de Mar) “Aguilas del Teide (Tenerife) “El Relicario” (Lloret de Mar “Galas” (Salou) “Benidorm Palace” “Scala” (Barcelona) “Gran Casino Sant Pere de Ribes” (Sitges) “La Caseta” (Marbella). His work in Spain has been joined with shows in other countries such as France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Polland, Belgium, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Ukraine
His television appearances spread from national TV on programmes such as “Gente Joven”, “Un Dos Tres”, “Gala”, “Todo Corazon”, Premios TP de Oro” de Canal Sur. “Entre Dos Mares”, “De Sur a Sur”, “Noches de Flamenco”. To European TV such as “Hola Rafaella” in Italy, “XXVII Caserta Festival” in Polland, Lithuania and Ukraine.
Jose Leon holds the world record for the fastest feet movements of a Flamenco dancer. He has never been beaten since 1967 and 1989 for the amount of taps with his feet in one second and one minute.
Since l999 he performs as main dancer and choreographer in La Siesta. His interpretation of the dance and his extraordinary choreography makes him one of the best flamenco artists at present.
Born in Barcelona in l956 in the heart of a gypsy family with old flamenco traditions. At the age of 9 he appeared in a well known Flamenco show in Barcelona. Between the age of 9 to 17 he toured with his parents and studied the different types of Flamenco.
At 17 he went to New York and made a tour of the United States where he performed marvelously in “Madison Square Garden” joined by the NewYork philharmonic orchestra.
He performed with Carlos Santana, Los Ramones, Mike Oldfield, Philip Catherine and Larry Corriel among others.
In 1979 he won the eighth national venue of Flamenco guitar in Jerez. In 1982 he performed in “La plaza de toros de Sant Feliu de Guixols with Paco de Lucia. l987 -89 he toured with the group “Iberia” consisting of Diego Cortes, Joan Albert Amargos, Salvador Niebla, Sergi Riera and Ginesa Ortega. In 1988 he presented himself at the Montmartre Jazz Festival.
In the 90´s he toured the United States and Europe with his band “Jaleo” performing in the “Paladium” New York, “New Morning” in Paris , “Rai” in Amsterdam, “Mercat de les Flors” and the “Teatro Apolo” in Barcelona, etc. In l995 he won the prize “Mercat de la Musica” of Vic while performing in the Barcelona guitar festival.
Since 2000 he has toured with Albert Pla to all the great Spanish festivals such as (Viña Rock, Esparragos Rock, etc.) also touring South America (Mexico, Argentine, Chile and Uruguay) in 2002/2003. In 2001 he took part in the Vienna Festival with his band “Chispa Negra” sharing the spot light with Paco de Lucia, Manolo San Lucr and Carmen linares among others. Later in 2005/2006 together with Paco de Lucia and “Chispa Negra” in France and Spain.
In 2003 he played the guitar in the Flamenco d`Argeles Festival with Tomatito and Joaquin Grilo.
In 2004 he performed in Spain, France and Kazafsan (in the “Zenith”) together with Paco de Lucia.
Since 2001 he has been performing in La Siesta Show bringing to this production his high quality performance and great experience. His soloist performance during the show extends from a flow of melodies played on the Spanish guitar up to a rising passionate and energetic performance that captivates the audience.
